Montenegro with Kids
by REISKOE
Why we featured this post
The Bay of Kotor packs a lot into a short drive, and this Dutch family shows how to see it with a child in tow. Joep, Sanne and Sophie, the same family behind our Lake Ohrid post, cover Budva, Kotor, Tivat and Perast. Each stop gets a realistic time, and the drives between them are mostly 15 to 30 minutes. The tips are practical: see the towns early or late to beat the summer heat, park outside Kotor's old town, and get to Perast before the afternoon crowds. Hotel picks run from budget to luxury in each town.
Things to do
- Walk the car-free Kotor Old Town
- Take a boat trip from Perast
- See the yachts at Porto Montenegro in Tivat
- Climb to the citadel in Budva for the view
- Swim in the Bay of Kotor
