For travel bloggers

What BlogsAbroad is, why we featured you, and where it can go from here.

1. BlogsAbroad features your writing and sends readers to you

BlogsAbroad is a curated directory of independent family-travel writing. When we feature one of your posts, we write our own short editorial about why it's worth reading and link readers to your blog to read it. We never copy your article, and our links to you are normal, followed links. You keep the traffic, the ad revenue, and the search credit.

2. Your profile page is yours to claim

Every featured blogger gets a public profile here: your posts, your destinations, and a link to your site. To take yours over, open your profile from the blogger directory and use the “Is this your blog?” form. You'll get a private link that lets you add your bio, photo, and social links. No account, no password, nothing to install.

Because that link lets you edit the page, we check the blog is yours first. If you write from an address on your own domain, the link arrives straight away. Otherwise we'll ask you to put a short code on your site (a meta tag, or a line in your Substack description) and click a button. We look for it, and you're in. You can delete the code afterwards. Either way it takes a minute and nobody waits on us.

3. Optional: the Trailblazer program and the DuckAbroad app

BlogsAbroad is made by the team behind DuckAbroad, a travel-journal app for families. Inside the app, families exploring a city see recommendations from Trailblazers, bloggers who share their tips and quests for the places they know best. It's a second audience for your writing: families standing in the destination you wrote about.

Trailblazers is in beta and works by application: you create a DuckAbroad account, verify that you own your blog (a one-line tag on your site), and request access. Verified Trailblazers are linked to their BlogsAbroad profile automatically.

Also from our team: travelb.io, a link-in-bio page built for travelers, separate from BlogsAbroad profiles.

The short version

  • BlogsAbroad: we feature your post, readers go to your blog. Claim your profile with one link.
  • Trailblazer program: an optional beta with your recommendations inside the DuckAbroad app, attributed to you.
  • DuckAbroad: the family travel app where those families are.
